AppReviews - Tutorial
The main steps to using AppReviews are to first add the applications that you are interested in, then you can fetch ratings and reviews for each of those applications with one tap. This tutorial takes you through running AppReviews for the first time and adding your first application. Please see the support page for troubleshooting.
The first time you run AppReviews, you will be presented with the applications list showing a few sample applications.
Tapping the Edit button on the applications screen will allow you to change the order of applications in the list or delete applications from the list.
Tapping the Add (+) button allows you to add a new application by entering its unique application identifier. This identifier can be found in your Apple sales reports for that application or by visiting the application in the iTunes App Store and right-clicking on the application's icon and choosing "Copy iTunes Store URL". Then past this URL into any text editor and locate the id field. Enter the numeric identifier into the text field and then tap "Choose Default App Store". Note: We hope to add searching by application name in a future free update.
The Default App Store for an application is the App Store in a chosen country that is used to fetch the application's name and company, this also serves to validate the application identifier that you have entered. Choose whatever country you would like to use in order to fetch the application name. This only really becomes important if you have localized your application name. Tap Save when you are happy with the default store, then tap Save again to save the application into your applications list. AppReviews will then contact your chosen default store and attempt to fetch the name and company details for the application identifier you have entered. If the identifier cannot be found in the default store you will see an error message, you must correct the application identifier (or check your network connection) before trying again. Once you are back at the applications list, tap Done to finish editing the list.
Tapping on the name of an application will display a list of worldwide App Stores, from this view you can download reviews for your application from all of the displayed stores by tapping the refresh button. Please note that it can take some time for AppReviews to contact each store and download the reviews, it is recommended to use a Wi-Fi connection for faster downloading of reviews. Download times can also be reduced by disabling any countries that you are not interested in (using the main Settings application).
